• Sveinung Lilleheier
  • Born: Norway 1973
  • Pedal steel and all kinds of strings, backing vocals

Sveinung Lilleheier is from Toten and now lives in Gjøvik by the Norway’s largest lake Mjøsa. He is the youngest member of the outfit, and joined the band while lending his fabulous pedal steel guitar riffs to some of the songs on the album Traction in 2001. Since then he has contributed in many ways as a member of the Tomcats, socially and musically. He is a talented guy who plays all sorts of strings; preferably pedal steel and Telecaster. He also works as a music teacher on his time off from the band and enjoys a good fishing trip on his way to our gigs in the beautiful Norwegian fjords and valleys. Sveinungs love for old fashioned country & western music coincided with Arne and Toinis passion for hillbilly, honkytonk and bluegrass – some of the roots for the Tomcats’ music – so they figured out an outlet for it in their project Rio Bravo, where Sveinung enjoys playing the occasional dobro solo and sports a valued standup Fender steel guitar made in 1953. This fabulous virtuoso also sings beautifully and has perfect pitch – handy for background vocals!
